45th Parallel is an Oregon-based literary magazine. We've previously published in print, but this year we're moving online, and we're looking for strong submissions to be part of our digital debut!
Please proofread and format your work carefully before submitting it. Submissions must be double-spaced with numbered pages and with all identifying information removed. Please include a brief cover letter or artist’s statement in the “bio” field.
All pieces submitted must be previously unpublished. Simultaneous submissions are accepted and encouraged, but please let us know as soon as possible if your piece has been accepted by another publication so we can remove it from consideration. The editors especially welcome work from BIPOC writers and other folks whose identities are underrepresented in the literary community.
See specific genre guidelines for fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and arts and comics requirements.
We look forward to reading your words!
*Note: If you're having trouble submitting on Submittable, please email us your submissions (following the same guidelines, including a brief bio in the body of the email) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
